Garlic Rolls

Since the day I learnt baking Pav, my hubby darling has been constantly demanding them from me. Whenever he missed Goan pav, he asks me to bake them for him. Mostly I used to feel lazy to mould the dough for pav as it's a bit time consuming. This time I decided to twist the pav and see his reaction and off course, my food processor made the job a little easier then before.

So how did I twist the tale? I made garlic rolls for him. I came across this recipe while blog hopping in Cheri's stolen recipes. These were a hit for Thursday's dinner in my home. He demanded them again for breakfast next day. My little princess jumped out with joy when she saw garlic rolls getting baked in my microwave.

Sending this virtual treat to my dear brother on Raksha Bandhan day. I am 110% sure he will love these.

Ingredients:

For the batter:
1 1/2 cup All purpose flour (maida)
1/2 cup warm water
3/4 tbsp active dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp + 1 tsp oil

For Garnish:
1 tablespoon sesame seeds

For the spread:
1 tablespoon garlic paste
2 tablespoon's butter
1/2 tablespoon red chilly flakes
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
1 tablespoon minced garlic

Procedure:
Warm the water and when it is slightly warm, add to it the yeast.
Mould the flour with the yeast water. Add to this sugar and salt and little oil.
Keep on moulding till the dough with oil till it becomes slightly elastic.
Once this is done, keep the dough covered for minimum 1 hr and watch it rise.
Once it rises and becomes almost double, punch the air from the dough and mould it slightly.
Use the rolling pin and spread the dough into 1/2 inch thick rectangular sheet.
On this spread the butter, garlic paste, coriander leaves, minced garlic and red chilly flakes.
Now roll this gently from one end to the other.
Cut this roll into 5 or 6 parts.
Grease a baking tray and keep these rolls in a line.
Apply butter and remaining garlic spread to the top of the rolls and sprinkle the sesame seeds.
Again let the rolls rise for 20 Min's.
Pre-heat the oven at 180 C for 5 Min's. Place the baking tray containing the garlic rolls in the microwave.
Bake for 20-22 Min's at 180 C or till the garlic rolls become golden brown.

Serve hot, serve with love!
