Soya Chunks Burjee is a new experiment in my kitchen. I was bored of the same soya chilly recipe , so thought of trying something new. The dish turned out great and it was healthy too. So if someone wants to try some healthy recipes this is a must go.
I tried this recipe while I MasterChef Australia Junior was being telecast on Star World. So whenever it was break time I used to run and hit the kitchen to cook the dish. This series is about to complete and I am waiting to watch MasterChef Australia which will be telecast from 14th June on Start World at 9.00 PM. I am more excited to watch this as this has been entirely shot on exclusive location at India. Stay tuned for more updates :)
Ingredients:
15-20 pieces of soya
1 finely chopped tomato
2 medium sized finely chopped onions
Paste made out of 4-5 garlic pods
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp red chilly powder
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste
Procedure:
Boil the soya nuggets, drain the water and keep them aside.
Once they dry completely, pull them open into small pieces.
In a kadai or wok, add oil and let it heat for sometime.
After it heats, add onion and fry till the onions turn translucent. Then add tomatoes and fry till they become mushy. Then add the garlic paste and fry till the raw smell of garlic vanishes.
Now add the turmeric and chilly power and mix well.
Add the soya chunks which has been cut into very small pieces.
Add the lemon juice , salt and mix well. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve with chapatis.
