Coming away from my regular posts, I will be writing about Black Dog Scotch for some time now. I came across this Scotch and I want to share it with my readers from all over the world.
Many of you might be knowing about Black Dog Scotch. It is one of the finest scotch available in India. It is also the fastest growing Scotch in the world. Black Dog Scotch was founded in 1883 by Sir Walter Millard. The name Black Dog was given to this Scotch by Sir Walter Millard after his favorite fishing fly. That is there on the logo of the Black Dog Scotch Bottle - a little fishing fly. It is distilled, aged and matured in Scotland.
The existing variants of Black Dog Scotch are
- Black Dog Gold Reserve - This is matured for 12 Years. It is the largest selling BII Premium Scotch Whisky in India with 60% market share.
- Black Dog Black Reserve – It is a rich and rare blended Scotch Whisky loaded with exceptional characters.
Apart from these, Black Dog has newly introduced Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve.
Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve as the name suggests is the only blended Scotch that is produced involving a triple maturation process. Triple maturation process is a process which involves Grain whiskies and Malt whiskies. They are separately matured in American Bourbon Casks and then blended together. They are then matured again in Oloroso Sherry Butts for an extra longer period of time to give the blend a distinctive flavor and a delicate finish.
As per the consumer research conducted on the blend of TGR, it has been accepted and appreciated as a parallel to any 12 Y.O(Years Old) blended Scotch. This is a truly Refined Scotch as it is triple matured.
