This Navratri, Mast Kalandar is all set to revive the memory, taste and smell of delicious food made for fasting which is needed to break your Navratri fast in an authentic style and feasting to bring in the festivities with a scrumptious spread to indulge in.
Mast Kalandar believes that food is a symbol of hospitality, togetherness, joy and the traditions. What they select to cook and how they prepare it, serve it and even how they eat are all factors touched by culture and tradition. They like to increase awareness of the food traditions by bringing this cultural experience and tradition alive through special delicious food that they serve during this festival.
People from North India who stay away from home and who feel like having food prepared during festivals, can come and feast here. Apart from that people who are on fast, can come here and break their fast. Some people get tired after performing pooja at home for hours and can't find any stamina to cook. They can also come here and have a delicious meal.
Chef Samta Gupta at Mast Kalandar, ensures that the food cooked is to the mark of perfection. Since the staff at Mast Kalandar knows the North Indian customs, they ensure that they use Rock Salt or "Sendha Namak" in their cooking on these special days. They also do not use grains, ginger or garlic as some communities do not eat these during the festival days.
