Kurkure Bhendi | Crispy Ladyfingers Fritters

In my office foodcourt we have "Lunch At Home" food counter which serves us with delicious Andhra styled meals. They also serve these Kurkure Bhendi and these are our favorite. I only go to this food counter to eat these crispy bhendi and other delicious fritters that they make. They serve them as accompaniment with rice, sambar and rasam.

There were some chopped bhendi lying in my fridge So I decided to make these simple and easy to cook kurkure bhendi. My hubby too loves these fritters and whenever I miss giving him home packed lunch he has food from Lunch At Home simply because of these fritters. When I made these kurkure bhendi at home, my hubby was surprised and said, these are just like those from office food court.

My little one simply loved munching these. She took these one by one and finished all from her plate. You can serve them with ketchup for little ones. I prefer simply munching them. Serve them as snacks or as accompaniment for lunch or dinner. They are perfect for any occasion and since they are made at home, they are always healthy.

Prep. Time: 20 Min's, Serves: 4
Ingredients :
20 bhendi
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp aamchur powder/chat masala
1 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp tandoori masala / any spicy masala / chicken 65 masala
1/2 tsp salt/ as per taste
2 tablespoon gram flour / besan
Oil for deep frying

Procedure:

Wash the bhendi and pat dry.
Slice them into 1 cm pieces.
Mix all the masalas and apply to the bhendi.
Add gram flour and to the bhendi and mix well
Add salt to taste and leave it aside for 15-20 Min's.
After 20 Min's, deep fry the bhendi which is coated with gram flour in 4-5 batches.
Drain them on paper towel to remove the excess oil.

Note: You can add any type of masala for taste. I added chicken 65 masala as my family loves this taste.
You can use cornflour instead of gram flour for coating the chopped lady fingers.
Do not leave the coated bhendi in oil for too long. Since they are 1 cm slices, they will cook fast. Just when they turn golden brown on either sides, take them out of oil and drain on the kitchen towel.
